1701 is the first coworking space in Virginia Beach announced two new programs to assist those searching for employment or the next chapter in their careers.
1701 is made up as a community of startups, entrepreneurs, small business owners and everything in between. They understand that change creates opportunity, and that now more than ever before, someone may have a chance to follow their business dreams. If you have had the dream to be your own boss or have been diligently working a side hustle, or perhaps you have lost your job, 1701 is inviting you to come work on those passion projects, dreams, and side hustle goals in their space.
Next Step Program
This is a program to help those recently laid off or jobless due to COVID find their entrepreneurial footing. It includes business creation resources, free co-working space, and access to all member events!
This program is designed to give the you an idea of what creating a business looks like. It is designed to be a springboard into a brighter future. 1701 will supply co-working space, a supportive community, workshops, networking events, and a plethora of resources, you need to supply the dream, hard work, and grit.
Applications for the Next Step program are open from July 30th – August 10th. Those accepted into the program will have access to start the program any time in August, running until the end of September.
Entrepreneur In Residence Program 
This program is in partnership with Virginia Beach Economic Development. Whether you’re launching a brand-new business or starting a new project, this program offers the community and services you need to be successful. Include free coworking, member benefits, weekly mentorship, thriving business community, and more!
Accepted applicants earn two and a half months of completely free coworking office space*, mentorship from the owners of 1701 & other experts in their field, and an abundance of resources. Two applicants will be accepted for each session. Accepted applicants must have or be able to acquire a Virginia Beach business license.
Application for the entrepreneur in residence program is August 14th for the Fall Session that runs from September 14 – November 25, 2020
