HAMPTON ROADS, VA., October 15, 2019 – 757 Angels today announced its new leadership for the fall 2019-2021 term. New Chair is Nancy L. Grden and new Vice Chair is Dave Levin, MD. Monique Adams remains in her role as Executive Director. Adams states that “Nancy & Dave will bring a vast amount of entrepreneurial and leadership experience to our members, funded companies and community.”
Ms. Grden succeeds current Chair John Paris, who successfully led the organization for the past two years. She is the Interim Associate Vice President for the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE) and Executive Director, Strome Entrepreneurial Center, at Old Dominion University (ODU). Dr. Levin is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for Datica (formerly Sansoro Health), a digital health care company.
“There is significant momentum for entrepreneurship and innovation now in Hampton Roads,” said Ms. Grden. “757 Angels was recognized as a “Top 10 Group’ by the national Angel Capital Association for dollars invested in 2018, and we will play an even greater role in our Region’s future economic development.”
According to the just-published 757 Angels Impact report, group members have invested $47 million over the past 5 years, and 23 companies have received investments to date. Of note is that 100% of funded companies employ females, people of color and/or veterans in their leadership teams.

Both new leaders have extensive executive and entrepreneurial leadership experience.
Ms. Grden is co-founder and served as General Manager for Genomind, Inc., a neuroscience biotech company. She was EVP and chief marketing/development officer for Amerigroup (now Anthem), and previously held executive positions with Options Healthcare (now Beacon Health) and predecessor banks to Bank of America. She is a founder, advisor, board member, and/or investor to new companies in Hampton Roads, and also serves on the Boards of 757 Accelerate, The Norfolk Forum, Kempsville High School Entrepreneurship Academy, Women in Venture, and the University of South Carolina Faber Entrepreneurial Center. She received the Trailblazer Award from Envision Lead Grow Foundation as the first partner for their entrepreneurship programs focused on middle school girls from underserved communities.
Dr. Levin is a physician, executive, and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, information technology, and innovation. He has extensive venture capital advisory experience and works with both investors and portfolio companies. Previously he served as Chief Medical Information Officer for the Cleveland Clinic, where he was responsible for clinical information systems world-wide. He has founded multiple start-up companies and advised many others. He is an active venture-stage advisor and investor. He is a member of multiple industry, venture, and non-profit boards and serves as a mentor with 757 Accelerate. Dr. Levin is also a nationally recognized speaker and has appeared in diverse academic, industry, and consumer media.
