As a coworking space in the heart of the ViBe Creative District, we love supporting local artists. To continue this support, new murals will soon be seen inside 1701! A total of 3 murals will be painted on 3 different walls throughout our space. The artists will have just 2 weeks to complete their masterpieces.

At the end of the 2 weeks there will be a First Friday mural reveal party! Join us on August 2nd  from 6-8pm to see these new works of art and chat with the artists over light hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The featured artists are:

Rebecca McCurdy

Rebecca Lucy McCurdy works intuitively and her work is inspired in part by science and mysticism, centering around a narrative she creates with her twin sister. As a process driven artist, she creates works that explore divine mythmaking, sublime femininity, and esoteric magical thinking. Whether creating abstract works or whimsical illustrations, her pieces explore the archetypical, primordial, and alien. She uses whichever materials resonate with her, believing that each piece is a path to explore, and that discovering what’s on the path is the best part.

She is a writer, illustrator, painter, muralist and anything else that calls on her to manifest the paracosmic world that appears in her work. See her work and learn more about the artist here.

Cassandra Travis

Evan Sokal

A neighborhood is never finished, a community is never finished, roads always need to be worked on, houses need to be built, people are always changing, this world is a work in progress, much like everyone else is a work in progress. my work focuses on literal tools for building, and that progress is a reminder that I myself am constantly in motion and changing and being a work in progress.
