Crash Course Film School

May 30, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Welcome to this Crash Course in Film School! Here, you will recieve hands-on training from a veteran of South by Southwest who will teach you filmmaking in four sessions over eight weeks. Our primary goal will be equipping creatives with the know how to showcase their creations through video for the world to experience – whether it’s sharing their painting process, robotics, pottery – whatever craft of choice. We will cover storytelling, the art of converying information in an emotionally impactful way, by using different kinds of camera shots and pacing. Then, we will move forward to shooting video and capturing quality audio, editing it together, and hosting it on the web for all to see.

You MUST bring a camera that records video (DSLR, point and shoot, or camcorder) and a computer/decently fast tablet. There will be a short section on mobile/niche shooting (iPhone and action cams like a gopro) and editing, but that will not be the primary focus.

Dates: Every other Thursday, starting May 16, 2019.
Location: 757 Makerspace Dream Factory
Cost: $250 per student (Buy your ticket through Eventbrite!)
If you can only attend one class, no problem. Single tickets available for $75.
*Again you must bring your own camera and computer.*
