February Technical Presentation – Williamsburg Software Developers Group
February 6 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Entry-Level Embedded Programming
by Glover Barker
Embedded programming supports customized devices, as opposed to full-scale desktop or laptop computers or mobile devices that operate on traditional operating systems. I recently attended two entry-level training sessions on embedded programming, using systems from Microchip Technologies. Code written in class will be presented, with demonstrations using the software to control customized Microchip boards. Labs will include causing LED lights to blink, and rotating Servo Motor arms. Topics covered, depending on time, may include High Endurance Flash (HEF), timers, interrupts, and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).
Also, our April 10 meeting will feature Kelly Shaw discussing the iOS operating system from Apple.
And on June 5, Aleksandr Podyachev will present his college project, supporting programming education for school children in Richmond.
StartWheel’s mission is to centralize and mobilize efforts that foster the growth of entrepreneurism in our regional innovation economy. We aim to support and cultivate an entrepreneurial network in HRVA where talent, resources, information and leadership come together.
