1701, Virginia Beach’s first collaborative coworking space located in the ViBe Creative District, is collaborating with the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads to bring expanded services to its clients. This partnership will allow the SBDC to further expand its Circuit Ride Program which is designed to allow ease of access to the counseling and information resources it provides.
In addition to conducting small business counseling services on a regular basis, the SBDC will be looking to bring a variety of small business courses and presentations to the area’s existing and prospective small business owners.
Jim Carroll, the executive director for the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads, sees this as a great opportunity to increase the Center’s reach into a heretofore underserved area. “Two years ago, the Center started its Circuit Ride Program which consisted of monthly visits to Franklin, Gloucester, Smithfield and Williamsburg. Last year, Yorktown/York County was added to the list of localities visited. Having 1701 host the SBDC is a logical extension of our services and will enable us to more efficiently and effectively serve the region’s small business owners.”
StartWheel’s mission is to centralize and mobilize efforts that foster the growth of entrepreneurism in our regional innovation economy. We aim to support and cultivate an entrepreneurial network in HRVA where talent, resources, information and leadership come together.
