Teaching the Teachers: implementing Virginia’s new Computer Science SOLs
by Aleksandr Podyachev

The SOLs are a set of educational standards that all schools in Virginia are legally required to teach. The Virginia General Assembly made history by passing a new Computer Science SOLs. However, Teachers do not know how to teach these new SOLs. The objective is to create a curriculum to teach these concepts to the teachers as well as the students. The two deliverables for this project are the 5th-grade curriculum and the website that will house the curriculum so that teachers will be able to access it.

And on August 14, Adwait Nadkarni, Assistant Professor at William & Mary, will present his work on security for home automation applications.
