Startup Night at 1701!
May 8, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Startup Night is a monthly event for entrepreneurs to network and share their newest business ideas. At some point, every new business owner has to start “pitching” an audience, whether for acquiring a loan, gaining new customers, recruiting new partners, marketing their business, or securing investor funding. What better place to hone your skill than a friendly and supportive atmosphere that provides constructive feedback? We are all about growing the entrepreneurial community by providing a platform for promoting the next innovative idea.
Come out and meet other entrepreneurs, investors and business enthusiasts who come together to network and watch demos of hot new local technologies, startups and businesses.
Wednesday night’s line-up includes:
The “Lego & Pipes Guy” who created a product that connects legos with pvc piping, allowing you to easily build giant structures! Mark will be putting together a display for the East Coast Music Conference in Norfolk two days after his pitch.
Charles will tell us about Heavenly Heat Salsa, his new business venture selling his own line of delicious Salsas (www.heavenlyheatsalsa.com).
And Blade will tell us about 3DXTREMES, a small local company that performs rapid prototyping for turning “napkin-sketch concepts into real products” (www.3dxtremes.com)
The Startup Night schedule goes like this:
6:25-6:30 Introductions, upcoming events, etc.
6:30-7:30 Presentations – three new pitches!
7:30 pm Continued Networking
8:00 pm Wrap-up
Hope to see you there!
PS If you are new to the area and want to learn more about the Hampton Roads entrepreneurial community, this is a great place to start. I first attended Startup Night two years ago, and ended up pitching my business idea the very next month. I never missed another event, and two years later, I run the show!
From here, you can start meeting other people with similar interests and goals. You will be glad you came.
And if you have an idea that you want to pitch, then let’s talk about getting you on the schedule next time!
