The fourth annual Home-Based Business Resource Fair & Conference is on Friday, April 12 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center at 600 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. This unique event features a resource fair with over 20 exhibitors, as well as conference sessions and specialty breakout tracts focused on topics relevant to all types of home-based businesses.
Businesses without a fixed, definite place of business (that is no storefront, office or industrial space) are, per the Code of Virginia, considered a home-based business. These businesses can be home-based franchises, traditional home-based businesses, direct sales and network marketing businesses.
Registration is $30, but a 10% early bird registration is available through Friday, March 15 and local chamber members receive discounted admission. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and snacks.
This event has received national recognition as a “Top 100 Brilliant Ideas at Work Across the Nation” from the National Association of Counties and was a gold award recipient of “Excellence in Economic Development” from the International Economic Development Council. The event was also a Virginia Association of Counties achievement award winner in 2017.
This event is sponsored by the Counties of York, James City and Gloucester and the Cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg as well as the York County Chamber of Commerce.
