Rapper and actor Ice-T will deliver a keynote address at the East Coast Music Conference in Norfolk on May 11.
The conference runs May 9-12. Ice-T will appear with music executive Seymour Stein at the TCC Roper Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now for $49.
In addition to an influential career as a performer and promoter in rap and metal music, Ice-T has had a long acting career and is well known for his long-running portrayal of police detective Fin Tutuola on the hit show “Law & Order: SVU.”
Stein, founder of Sire Records, played a key role in developing Ice-T’s career. According to a press release, the keynote address will “take the form of a conversation between the two well acquainted music industry legends. … equal parts reminiscence and discussion of the dramatic changes in the music industry.”
Executive producer Grace Garvin said in the press release: “By attracting industry figures at this level, we’re establishing ECMC as a place where music industry leaders go to talk about the future.”
