Women control more than 50% of all personal wealth in the US, yet fewer than 10% of investors at angel, venture, and private equity funds are women. Furthermore, while women entrepreneurs represent 36% of all businesses in the US, female CEOs receive fewer than 10% of venture capital. Gender inequity has long been a challenge in private investing, with minimal growth in the number of female investors over the past 50 years.
Women in Venture is working to bridge the gap and inspire women to get engaged:
RAISE – a Mega-Region Event will be held on February 21st from 9:00am–1:00pm at the William & Mary School of Business.
The Women in Venture networks will come together at the College of William & Mary for a 1/2 day conference, dubbed RAISE. Attendees will dive deeper into topics related to venture capital and the importance of a strong entrepreneurial journey in breakout sessions and a keynote from Lara Merriken, founder of national brand LäraBar.Women in Venture - RAISE Conference
